What If God Is Looking Through You?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If your days keep proving the same story, it might be because you keep “decreeing” it without noticing. We open season three of the Mindset Book Podcast with Neville Goddard’s At Your Command, and we sit with its bold premise: the power you’ve been chasing is already within you, because awareness is the creative source.
We talk about how your inner voice and your spoken words shape your mindset and your lived experience. Two people can stand in the same world and see two different realities based on what they focus on, repeat, and emotionally feed. That’s why awareness matters. When you catch yourself spiraling into complaint, you can pivot into gratitude without pretending life is perfect, and you can start building a new internal baseline that produces better external results.
We also get practical about responsibility and change. If you don’t like your relationship, your job, your money situation, or your mental state, the mirror is inviting an internal shift first and a decision next. Then we break down affirmations and manifestation techniques in a grounded way: why future tense statements can reinforce lack, how present tense “I AM” language changes self concept, and why visualization works when it feels real now.
If this resonates, follow the show, share this season with someone who needs a reminder of their power, and leave a review so more people can find it. What’s one sentence you’re ready to stop saying about your life?
Season Three And The Core Idea
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to season three of the Mindset Book Podcast. For this season, what we're going to do is we're going to focus on one book. The book isn't that long, but it's going to take us some time to get through it. It's a Neville Goddard book called At Your Command. And it is an absolutely terrific book. And the essential message in the book is that all the power that you could ever have, want, or need is right inside of you, and that you are a part of God and you can tap into that piece of God at any time. God is viewing life through Michael. God is viewing life through you. God is viewing life through my wife. And we are all connected and we are all one. And that is the message of this book. And if we take that message and we really think about how powerful that is, that means there is nothing outside of us that we need to tap into to get the things that we want. Really, the best thing that we could possibly do is have internal reflection and figure out well, how do I connect to that source that's inside of me when I have all this noise going on in my mind? I have all these thoughts racing through my head. A lot of them are negative. A lot of them are taking me places that I don't want to go. How can I possibly connect to that place when I've got my mind going crazy? And again, as we go through this book, it's going to help answer that question. It's going to help have us to understand well, what do we need to do to connect? What do we need to do to look in the mirror and realize that we are God? We are a part of God. We are God viewing itself through us. And if we ever think that we're unworthy, we're just believing these old stories, these old beliefs, these old paradigms, these old programs that were given to us by other people. If you have a thought or feeling that you're not good enough, there's only one reason that you have that. It's because someone said it to you. It could have been on the baseball field, it could have been in school, it could have been at a job. Someone said you really aren't performing at a level that is good. And while there is definitely learning in that for us, we can learn and grow. We could also take it to heart and take it as a program of truth when a truth that we're not good enough. Meanwhile, that's not the truth at all. It means in this specific scenario, in this one person's viewpoint, we're not performing at the level that they want us to perform at. But that doesn't mean that we as a human being are not good enough. And again, that's what this book's gonna do. So we're gonna spend season three on this podcast. We're gonna, I don't know how much we're gonna get through at a time, but the point is let's take our time, let's really digest this information, let's really understand this information, and and and let's use it to one, help ourselves and most importantly also to spread the light to other people so that they can look in the mirror, they can see the incredibleness that they have within themselves, they can see the beauty they have, they can see the power that they have, and again, they can spread that light to other people as well. So let's jump in and here we are at your command. The very first sentence says, Can a man decree a thing and have it come to pass? What does that mean? It means when you or I say something, can our the power of our voice make it come and make it actually happen? Well, if you look at the Bible, whether you believe in the Bible or not, I'm just using this as an example. The very first line of the Bible is, and God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God spoke the world into existence. We have a very powerful voice inside, and our voice has the ability to create. If we are a part of God, that would mean that the words that we speak are just as powerful and and and actually can create. Unfortunately, a lot of time we can use it in the wrong way. We can use it to get things that we don't want in our life. Let's continue. Most decidedly, he can. Most decidedly, we can decree a thing by speaking it out loud and have it come to pass. Continue. Man has always decreed that which has appeared in his world, and is today decreeing that which is appearing in his world, and shall continue to do so as long as man is conscious of being a man, or a woman is conscious of being a woman, or a human is conscious of being human. Again, this is saying that we have the power to decree, to disay, to make what is currently appearing in our world will come to pass by us decreeing it. So let's use a few examples. I'm watching social media and I'm seeing some really negative stories about politics, about um a specific state and the way it's being governed. And I say out loud, this world is a terrible place. Am I creating my reality in that moment? In other words, if there's three people, I'm one of them, and I say this world is a crazy place, and then you have another person that says, This world is a beautiful place. And what they focus on is their friends, their family, good deeds that they do for one another, some good things that are happening in the world. There, there are two people in the exact same room viewing the world in two totally different ways. And the only difference is what are they thinking and speaking out loud? What are they choosing to focus on? The way we can know what we're focused on is by the words that we speak and the thoughts that we think. They're clearly going to tell us are we focused on something positive or are we focused on something negative? And it's a choice. And we have that choice every single day. Are we perfect? No. We're gonna make mistakes, we're gonna focus on negative. But if we have awareness, awareness is a beautiful thing. Awareness is you can realize at any point, in any time, suddenly, hey, wait, my mind is focused on the negative. I'm making a conscious decision right now to turn off the social media, to close it out. And I'm gonna focus on some of the good things. Like, what are some of the things that I'm grateful for in my life? Well, I'm grateful for my family, I'm grateful for my friends, I'm grateful that I'm able to breathe. I'm grateful for my eyesight, my vision. I'm grateful for all these incredible things. And I can choose to focus on that gratitude, or I can choose to focus on the negative. That is a choice. But again, the way that we know what we're focused on is if we listen to a person speak, it's going to clearly tell us whether they're focusing on negative or positive based on the words that they're speaking. So when you're with a friend or with a family member or with a boss or with a colleague, you can tell everything about what's going on in their mind by just listening to the words that they speak. If you think about the person that decrees nothing ever works out in my life, and everyone knows that person. Everyone knows someone like that. That's all they're doing is complaining, blaming, making excuses, focusing on the negative. What is their life like on a consistent basis? And we know the answer. Their life is crappy. And that's because all they're doing is focusing on the negative, they're thinking about the negative, they're speaking the negative, and they're decreeing, just like it says here can a man decree a thing and have it come to pass, they're decreeing what their world is going to be like. So we are the ones that have the power. If you're looking outside of yourself for things to get better, for the world to change, the world is a reflection of what is going on inside of us. It's not a good thing, it's not a bad thing, it's a fact. So if we don't like our outside results, if we don't like what we're watching and what we're seeing unfold outside of us, that's telling us we need to change internally. We need to change our focus, we need to change our thoughts, we need to change the words that we're speaking, we need to change our what we're focusing on and how disciplined are we in our approach. Because if we're disciplined in our focus and if we think things that are positive rather than negative, and I'm not saying be inauthentic, you can be totally authentic and be grateful for your life. And if you're just authentic and grateful for your life and you focus on all the things that you can be grateful for, well, that's not being inauthentic at all. That's not ignoring the world. It's saying, I know the world is this way, I know there's negative things going on out there, but my choice is to focus in on the positive, to focus in on all the things that are actually happening that are good, to focus on the things that I'm grateful for. Now, we've only gotten through a few lines of the book, but this is all really important stuff because as we read through this, what we want to see is that we, you and I, are responsible for our lives. We have to take 100% responsibility. We have to take blame off of everything else and look in the mirror and say, what can I do to make my world a good place? And again, it's gonna all come through what we're gonna read. So let's continue on. Not one thing has ever appeared in a man's world, but the man decreed that it should. So whatever you're experiencing in your life right now, if you're experiencing a lack of money, if you're experiencing a bad relationship, it's because you have said out loud, you've decreed it, I'm in a bad relationship. Why do these types of relationships always find me? I can never find a decent man or woman. Those are things that are said by people who are struggling in a relationship, because if you're in a relationship and you don't like it, you can take 100% responsibility and end that relationship. Or you could go and you can go to therapy and try to try to work it out. There are things that you can do to make it better. Now, if your partner isn't willing to do that, no worries. Then end the relationship and move on. Because what's the purpose of staying in a world that you don't want to stay in? And the only reason you're there is because you're choosing to stay there. And I know that might sound a little harsh, but that's the truth. That's the reality. And when we realize that we have all this power inside, that we have the ability to make a choice at any time, that we can make a decision. Well, when we realize that, that gives a lot of power. And so if we're stuck in that situation where you're not earning enough money, you're not making enough money, you can't really make ends meet. There's always a way because there are other people that are in that exact same situation and somehow they stay focused on the positive, they speak to other people, they they look for different opportunities, they try different things, they may not always succeed, but ultimately they do because they don't give up and they're not willing to stay in this world that they're currently living in. And the reason that they're not gonna stay there is because they're taking responsibility and they're saying, I don't like what I'm in right now. I'm not gonna sit for the next day, month, hour, uh year focusing in on all the negativity and constantly telling my friends and constantly telling my family member about all the negativity in my life. Instead, I'm going to take my internal uh thoughts, my internal words that I speak to myself, my internal focus, and I'm gonna change what I've been focusing on and move it to a place where it's gonna actually help me get the things that I want. So again, ask yourself this question Do you have the ability to make a change in your life anytime? And the answer is yes, because if you look at your life and you look at struggles that you've had in your life, haven't hasn't there been one day, one moment where you finally made the decision and said, like that relationship's over. Uh, I'm done. I'm I'm finally gonna leave this job. It was a decision that was made in a moment because you, you know, your thoughts finally got to a place where you couldn't take it and you said, that's it, I'm done. You can say I'm done at any time. And when I say I'm done, it doesn't mean to give up. It just means that I am done living in this situation that I don't like. I'm going to take control, I'm going to make a decision, and I'm going to say it is time for me to actually get out of this and to start taking control of my life. And we're going to see it in this book as we move forward, how you are so powerful that you, you, me, all of us, we're so powerful. We don't give ourselves credit for being a piece of God. Like if you knew for a fact that God is living inside of you and you are a piece of God, you are God, right? We're all connected. So if we're all God, it means God is viewing again, me through uh God's being Michael, he's being Joe, he's being Jennifer. It's and we're all experiencing each other, but we're experiencing really one and the same. We're all God, we're all a part of him. And and and when we realize we have that power, we realize we are a part of God, it it can give us the ability to create because God is a creator and you are a creator, and I'm a creator, and we can create the life that we want. We can create the world we want to live in, we can create the emotions we want to experience. We don't have to be frustrated all the time. We can choose. We have a choice. We always have a choice. You also have a choice you can give up and say, that's it, I'm done. I'm not doing this anymore. That's a choice. We all have choices. We can make a choice. But the problem is when we when we give up, is our external world is anything going to change? Is our relationship, is our a money situation, right? Is our our our health and fitness will will that change by giving up? No. It'll just give you more to complain about, and you'll just sit in your complaints and not do anything about it. And that's just habitual. But it's because you're forgetting who you really are. You're forgetting that you're this power, this part of God that's inside of you. All right, let's go back to the book. This you may deny, but try as you will, and you cannot disprove it. For this decreeing is based upon a changeless principle. You do not command things to appear by your words or loud affirmations. Such vain repetition is more often than not confirmation of the opposite. Decreeing is ever done in consciousness. That is, every man is conscious of being that which he has decreed himself to be. The dumb man, without using words, is conscious of being dumb. Therefore, he is decreeing himself to be dumb. Now, I want to go back here because there's some really powerful things that are being said here. A lot of times you will hear people say, and I've said it, I've said it in the past, affirmations are powerful. Affirmations create, and they do. However, if you're affirming something in the future tense and you're saying, I will have lots of money, what is that actually saying about where you currently are right now? It's telling you that you're coming from a place of lack. It's saying that I don't have that thing that I want, and somewhere in the future, I'll get it. You're decreeing a situation. You're saying, I don't have it, I'm in lack, I want it. Well, if you're a God and you could create anything that you want in your life, how would you speak that into existence? You would speak it through words of present tense affirmation. I am abundance. I have all the money that I need to live a happy and peaceful life. That's what you say out loud because now you're experiencing it. And affirmation could be said in a way that, again, it's something in the future, something that I will have. Eventually, I'll make$700,000 a year. Uh, I am going to make$500,000 a year. I am going to make$4 million a year. No, that's future speaking. That is coming from a place of lack. I have abundance and the abundance increases daily, and I am earning$4 million a year. Now, that may not be true in the moment, but it needs to be true in your mind first. We have to create what we want to create in our mind first. We have to plant the seeds in our mind first. If someone is a gold medal winner, if someone is a championship basketball player, they won the NBA championship. Do you think they're planting the seed in their head of winning that championship way before they actually win it? Do you think the gold medal winner is visualizing themselves winning that gold way before they do it? But they're not envisioning themselves one day doing it. They're seeing themselves with the gold medal standing on the platform, listening to their country's anthem, right? Seeing themselves actually swimming the race. They're doing it in the present moment in their brain. So affirmations are can be really, really good if we use them the right way, but we have to affirm as if we already have it. And we have to feel the feelings that we would if we already had it. For example, the gold medalist, if you won the gold medal, how would you feel? You would feel really strong. You would feel freedom and peace and happiness. Those are the feelings that you need to feel now. Not the feeling of, oh, I won it, right? The feeling of happiness, peace, all those feelings that you would feel if if you do win the gold medal, you got to feel those feelings now. And that's the key. Does that make sense? Okay, let's continue on. Therefore, he is decreeing himself to be dumb. When the Bible is read in this light, you will find it to be the greatest scientific book ever written. Instead of looking upon the Bible as a historical record of ancient civilization or the biography of unusual life of Jesus, and again, let me just pause for one second. He's talking about Jesus. You can talk about whatever historical record you're looking at. But if you read the text as if you are that power, you're gonna see it in a very different light than you're gonna see it by just reading it as a historical event. That's what they're saying. So don't get caught up in the fact that I'm using the word Jesus. If that's not your religion, use whatever word you want. That's the word that he wrote here, and that's the word I'm reading. So again, don't get caught up there. There's no need to focus on that. We just stay with um whatever that thing is that we believe in and read it from the perspective of as we continue here. See it as a great psychological drama taking place in the consciousness of man. What does that mean? Let's continue and read a little bit. Claim it as your own, and you will suddenly transform your world from the barren deserts of Egypt to the promised land of Canaan. Everyone will agree with the statement that all things were made by God. Can you agree with that? There is a higher power for sure. There is some higher power. Some people call it God, some people call it divine, some people call it universe. But is it a fair statement to say that everything was made by some incredible power? Because if you look at your body itself and how it functions and all the organs and all the cells, the trillions of cells that some are dying and then they come back and things are rebuilding. You cut your skin, it heals itself. All these miraculous things that are happening. You go to sleep at night, you're breathing, you're you're you're you're able to breathe the whole night without thinking about it. It just happens automatically. These incredible systems in our body digestion, uh we have our heart beating, blood flowing through our body. We can easily Take that for granted. There is a higher power that has created this. How in the world is our heart beating without us doing anything? What is causing the heart to actually beat? If you can explain that to me and really make a lot of sense, I'm sure there's someone out there that can, but let's be real. How does the heart just suddenly stop beating? How do these cells suddenly start dying? There's something else going on. There's a higher power that's here. And that higher power is actually within us. And that higher power never dies. And that higher power moves on. I've seen thousands of near-death experiences where everyone explains the same thing that when they passed away, they saw themselves above their body, they were able to describe everything, even though their eyes were taped shut and they're in their hospital room, and they say that they felt this most incredible love, a love they've never felt before, power they've never felt before. Yet that's proof. This is proof. This is proof. There is something outside of us, and it is us, and we're going back to the oneness, the love. Everyone describes not being in your body. There's such a sense of love and acceptance that they've never ever experienced here on earth. Even if they felt loved and if they felt cared about, they've never experienced it to the level that they're experiencing it. So let's agree for reading this book that all things are made by God. And without God, there is nothing made. I'm going back to the book. Without God, there is nothing made. That is made. But what man does not agree upon, what man does not agree upon is the identity of God. All the churches and priesthoods of the world disagree as to the identity of the true nature of God. I'm gonna read this now. This is this is really powerful. Moses discovered God to be man's awareness of being. Moses discovered God to be man's awareness of being. When he declared these little understood words, I am hath sent me unto you. David sang in his in his Psalms, Be still and know that I am God. Isaiah declared, I am the Lord and there is none else. There is no God beside me. I girded thee, though thou hast not known me. I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil. I the Lord do all these things. Now here, listen to this. The awareness of being as God is stated a hundred times in the New Testament, to name but a few. I am the shepherd, I am the door, I am the resurrection, I am life, I am the way, I am the Alpha, I am the Omega, I am the beginning, I am the end. And again, whom do you say that I am? It is not stated that I Jesus as the door, I Jesus as the way. Whom do you say that I Jesus am? It is clearly stated, I am the way. The awareness of being is the door through which the manifestations of life pass into this world of form. All right, let's just digest this, right? Because this is a lot that is being said. But ultimately, what they're saying is the discovery of the kingdom of God is within me, that you are a God. You are the one with all the power. You speak your world into existence. You think your world into existence. You have that power. You can use that power, but unfortunately, what most people do is they're using the programming that has occurred in their life to make them forget the power that they truly have. They believe I'm not good enough. They believe I'm not worthy. They believe I am not whatever you want to fill it in with. But it's all these negative beliefs. And every single one of those negative beliefs came from someone who told us that we aren't good enough. We didn't get born into this world and have that belief. So we're gonna pause here because we've hit a lot of information and we hit it pretty quickly. But let's pause here. And I think that the takeaway from today is just being aware of this awareness that's inside of us. When we use the word I am, I am was used to reference God so many times throughout the Bible. I am that I am, right? I am that I am. I am that I am says you are everything. We are all one. We are all God. The person that you don't like, the person that you judge, all those people are just a reflection of what we truly are, which is God. And they're reflecting it back to us. And we're it's there for us to learn, to grow, understand, to exude unconditional love, even for the people that we would really rather judge. Maybe it's all a test for us to just really realize that we're all one and the same, that the core essence of who we are is love. That all anyone ever really wants is to experience and feel that love. And we create these masks and we believe these negative beliefs that tell us that we're something that we're not. And we we believe that. And when we see it reflected in someone else, we get angry. But we're not really getting angry at them for being stubborn. We're not getting angry at them for being angry. We're getting angry at ourselves because we have that within ourselves as well. Sometimes we are stubborn in different ways, maybe not in the same way that they're exhibiting it, but we're stubborn in our own way. So when we can reflect and see that we are all one, we will start to see the light, the peace of God that is within them. We'll start to see the cover-up, the mask that they're wearing, these beliefs that they believe, which aren't true. But the way that we start doing that is we start with ourselves. What are these negative beliefs that you believe about yourself when the truth of the matter is that you are God, you are a part of God. God is within you. And if you knew that to be true, you could never ever say that you aren't good enough. Ever. You couldn't say it because you would come back to the truth of who you really are. And that's where I want to pause here, just letting you know that that is who you are. You have more power that you could ever even imagine. Unfortunately, we're using that power a lot of the time by speaking and decreeing things that we do not want in our life. And the more that we do that, the more we speak these things, the more that we believe the falsities of these limiting beliefs that we have. The more that we do that, the more we're going to experience the mask. And it's time to take off the mask. It's time to see who we truly are, it's time to let our light out and flow to other people and to help other people see how incredible they really are. That's why I'm spending the time to go through this with you. I'm doing it for me, I'm doing it for you, and I'm doing it so that you'll also do this with other people. Because when we can come to the realization that we have all this power inside and we no longer believe the limiting beliefs that we've that we were programmed with, this world will become a very different place. And the that the way that that happens is one person at a time. And this is the starting point. You are that person. You are that power, you are that love, and you can share it with yourself and you can share it with others. So on that note, have an amazing day, and I look forward to seeing you the next time.
